Bolsa de Valores de Moçambique (BVM), the official stock exchange of Mozambique, has signed an agreement with Pakistan’s InfoTech Group to supply, implement and support the Integrated Trading and Central Depository Support System in a significant upgrade to the bourse’s trading and other IT systems.
The agreement was recently signed by the two CEOs, Pedro Frederico Cossa for the BVM and Naseer Akhtar of InfoTech.
According to an InfoTech post on social media, the new ISTCSD system will be “the technological backbone of BVM’s trading and settlement operations”.
InfoTech’s Capizar automated trading system and related systems are already deployed in the Ghana and Malawi stock exchanges (Malawi see ACMN story from April 2018), Angola’s Bolsa de Dívida e Valores de Angola (BODIVA) and, most recently, the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (see ACMN story from September 2024).
InfoTech also supplies for the East African Community stock exchange connectivity hub which links the trading systems for the Uganda Securities Exchange, Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange and Rwanda Stock Exchange via the EAC Capital Markets Infrastructure (CMI) platform. (see ACMN report from September 2020).
