African Capital Markets News is run by Tom Minney.
Tom is a capital markets consultant, learning about how capital markets support economic growth, jobs and financial empowerment. He has worked as General Manager of the Namibian Stock Exchange and has advised securities exchanges, capital markets regulators and regional associations across southern Africa and in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Azerbaijan. He also worked in investment banking and venture capital, and on strategy, investor relations and corporate governance.
Tom has 30 years’ experience writing about African business. He has previously worked at Investors Chronicle and for BBC Africa, Reuters, and many others. He is regularly published in African Banker. He writes training materials including for Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) and provides training and is an expert conference MC and moderator.
Qualifications include: Master in Business Leadership (Unisa equivalent to MBA), MA (Oxford), Member of the Association of Project Management (MAPM) and Toastmasters International (CC and CL).
